MV Ganga Vilas

Embarkation: 11:00 hrs 

Arrival in Kolkata in the morning and transfer to the jetty for embarking MV Ganga Vilas. Welcome onboard followed by lunch. Depending upon tide timings we will sail towards the Bay of Bengalpassing by historical monuments like the Diamond Harbour to arrive at the gateway of the Sundarbans National Park, a World Heritage Site and the world’s largest delta mangrove forest.

Dinner & Overnight onboard MV Ganga Vilas

Post breakfast visit the Bhagabatpur Island which is known for its crocodile project that has a hatchery and sanctuary of the estuarine crocodiles. Return to ship and sail further in the Sundarbans towards Bali Island. Dinner & Overnight onboard MV Ganga Vilas

After breakfast enjoy a creek cruise by local boats inside the Sundarbans National Park. Return to the ship for lunch. Thereafter enjoy a walk in the village of Bali and interact with the villagers engaged in creating handicrafts. Witness a tribal dance performance onboard the ship. After breakfast spend the day cruising further in the creeks by local boat endowing possibilities of viewing wildlife and a wide range of migratory and local birds. Proceed to visit the Dobanki Watchtower that offers a canopy walk at an elevation of 20 feet from the ground to reveal the riveting flora and fauna. Dinner & Overnight onboard MV Ganga Vilas

Ride in a country boat after breakfast to visit the serene Nethidopani Watchtower and experience the spectacular nature of the surroundings. Return to the ship and sail to Namkhana, enjoying lunch onboard. Dinner & Overnight onboard MV Ganga Vilas

We sail full day back to Kolkata, crossing the creek as per tide chart. Enjoy breakfast and lunch onboard. Dinner & Overnight onboard MV Ganga Vilas

Breakfast onboard. Disembark the ship and transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Disembarkation: 09:00 hrs Important Note: • The itinerary maybe readjusted due to local conditions and days of the week, in order to avoid closure of monuments/museums. Last minute sailing adjustments may also occur. The schedule may shift due to the weather or to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. The exact time for each activity will be announced or posted by the onboard tour staff. • The letters in parentheses indicate the included meal of the day B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner • Fresh Water Management: While in the Sundarbans as we travel in Saltwater, fresh water on board the ship needs to be conserved in the storage tanks. So, fresh water (for usage in washrooms) will be available for a limited time before breakfast, lunch & dinner and after excursions. Timings of each day may change depending upon the program of the day. • Wildlife viewing: Sightseeing in the Sundarbans is best done during low tide when the animals come out. The excursions will accordingly be rearranged based on the tide schedule (high tide / low tide timings) to maximize the experience.
