Day 1
Embarkation: 12:00 PM
Fri, 13 Sep 2024: Arrive Kolkata, Embarkation – towards Namkhana

Morning embark the ship at the Jetty in Kolkata and enjoy lunch on board. Thereafter proceed for a Panoramic Tour of the well-preserved British colonial buildings in Dalhousie Square. Also visit St. John's Church and the Victoria Memorial Museum. 

Late at night depending on tide timings, you set sail towards Namkhana.

Day 2
Sat, 14 Sep 2024: Arrive Namkhana

Sail further in the day to arrive at Namkhana, the gateway of the Sundarbans National Park, a World Heritage Site which is world’s largest delta mangrove forest. Enjoy a talk and interaction with the Naturalist on the unique ecosystem of the Sundarbans.

Day 3
Sun, 15 Sep 2024: Namkhana – Bony Camp – Bali Island

Today scale the Bony Camp Watchtower to sight endangered crocodiles, terrapins and many species of Migratory Birds. Keep a keen eye out for Irrawaddy Dolphins and other marine life. Post Lunch sail onward to Bali Island, a typical village whose inhabitants are engaged in farming, paddy husking, honey packing and fishing. Enjoy a village walk and interact with the villagers engaged in creating handicrafts, visit a local home, and witness a tribal dance.

Day 4
Mon, 16 Sep 2024: Bali – Sudhanyakhali – Do Banki – Namkhana

We scale the Sudhanyakhali Watchtower today which is a vast habitat endows invigorating possibilities of crocodiles, wild boars, axis deer and a wide range of migratory and local birds. Thereafter take a small country boat through the narrow creeks to climb the Dobanki Watchtower and enjoy a canopy walk at an elevation of 20 feet from the ground and about half a kilometer in length, to reveal the riveting flora and fauna. 

Return to the ship for late lunch and sail to Namkhana.

Day 5
Tue, 17 Sep 2024: Namkhana – Kolkata – Chandernagore

Early this morning we sail back to Kolkata enjoying breakfast and lunch on board, arriving late in the afternoon. Enjoy a Tea Tasting session while reminiscing the wonderous experience of the Sundarbans. 

Depending on tide timings we will depart during the night upstream towards Chandernagore.

Day 6
Wed, 18 Sep 2024: Chandernagore – Bansberia

After breakfast explore the French colonial buildings along the promenade, including the former French governor's residence, now converted into a museum that features an exhibition of items that depict life during this period. Also visit the Sacred Heart Church which stands for over two centuries to mark the beauty of the architecture during the French period.

Sail onward to Bansberia, a quaint riverside village. Late afternoon, enjoy a short walk to visit the Haneswari Temple, known for its unique Ratna architectural style of 12 minars or Ratnas, each shaped like a lotus bud, and the inner layout following human anatomy.

Day 7
Thu, 19 Sep 2024: Bansberia – Bandel – Serampore – Bally Bridge

Sailing from a French enclave to a Portuguese settlement, enjoy breakfast as we traverse the landscape to Bandel, meaning port in Bengali. Visit the Hooghly Imambara, located on the shore of Bandel. It is one of the famous Shiya pilgrimage centres in West Bengal. The structure contains a Victorian-era clock with a winding key weighing 20kg; large Persian chandeliers and lamps light the Imambara's hallways and passages.

Continue sailing to Serampore, an erstwhile Danish colony. Enjoy a walk in the old quarters to see the Danish Tavern, St. Olav's Church and other Danish heritage monuments. Continue sail to Kolkata and moor for the night on the outskirts of the city at Bally Bridge.

Disembarkation Time: 09:00 AM

Following breakfast guests will disembark and transfer for their onward journey.
