Tour Description : Lying on the coast of Bay of Bengal, Bhitarkanika, popularly referred to as the mini-Amazon, is the second largest Mangrove ecosystem of our country after the Sundarbans. Bhitarkanika originates from a blend of two Odia words – Bhitar which means interior inside and Kanika that translates to exceptional beauty.

day 1
Arrive Gupti, Embarkation
Arrive at the village of Gupti, which is approx. 3½ hours drive from Bhubaneswar and a short distance from the nearby town of Rajnagar. Embarkation between 16:00 – 18:00 hrs. Time permitting, enjoy a walk through the nearby village for a chance to experience the local life and traditions of the area.

Gupti – Dangamal: Exploring Bhitarkanika
After breakfast, full day sailing into the rich and unique mangrove ecosystem with creeks, mudflats, and estuaries to arrive in Dangamal en route looking for Estuarian Crocodile, Spotted Deer, Monitor Lizard, Wild Boar, Indian Python, Rhesus Macaque and variety of birds. Time permitting, visit the Orientation Centre to learn about the mangrove forest and its unique habitat. Sail back to Gupti.
