The Itinerary

Get ready to explore one of the most amazing wetlands in the world. The Mangrove Majesty trip is a special journey that lets you take your time and really experience the “Mini-Amazon” of the East, which is Bhitarkanika. Over four days, you’ll travel through the complicated water paths of the Brahmani, Baitarani, and Dhamra rivers. As you go, you’ll discover a world that’s been around since prehistoric times, where nature is still untouched and wild.

Mangrove Majesty

day 1

Arrive Gupti, Embarkation

Embark the ship at the Gupti jetty, which is approx. 3½ hours drive from Bhubaneswar and a short distance from the nearby town of Rajnagar.

Familiarize yourself with the Catamaran vessel. We start sailing with Lunch on board and enjoying the Scenic Jungle views from the Lounge-cum-Dinning area.

Post lunch you will be sitting at the Sun Deck and have a view of the Jungle with a relaxing slow cruising towards the Core Zone of Bhitarkanika National Park, Dangamala. Spotting of animals and crocodiles from the Sun deck is worth of slow sailing.

A multi course traditional meal awaits you in the evening giving you the flavors of the region. Anchor inside the park near Dangamala.

day 2

Gupti – Dangamal Exploring Bhitarkanika

We offer a variety of full-day activities within the park, including sailing through the narrow creeks, a jungle walks to Shikarkothi, and the Sky Bridge. Visit the museum and the hatchery.

During these excursions, you will have the opportunity to look for estuarine crocodiles, spotted deer, monitor lizards, wild boars, Indian pythons, rhesus macaques, and a wide variety of birds. Time permitting, visit the Orientation Centre to learn about the mangrove forest and its unique habitat.

Later sail back to Gupti, where the views of the forest and the setting sun are simply mesmerizing. Dinner followed by a relaxed evening.

day 3

Gupti – Habalikathi - Gupti

After breakfast, sail on the Mahipura river towards Bay of Bengal and enjoy the landscape. Time/Tide condition permitting, you may visit Habali Kathi which involves a one hour walk through the mangrove forest to the beach.

According to the tide schedule, sail back towards Gupti jetty. Anchoring in the middle of the water around Gumuda Island.
